Ikebana Workshop
SOLD OUT
In Collaboration with Ohara School of Ikebana
Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026
Time: 3 - 4:30 pm
Location: CHI-KA, Alserkal Avenue 69, Dubai
The workshop will introduce the basic principles of Ikebana flower arrangement and the Japanese aesthetic of simplicity. The futoi ('fat') grass is highly prized in Ikebana for the way it bends and folds into shape.
The session is suitable for beginners.
Each participant creates two arrangements using our vases and flower holders, with guidance throughout. Only the flowers come home with you — you're welcome to photograph your completed arrangements before you leave.
The facilitators will be Harue Oki (Master and Instructor) and Alison Cross (instructor) from the Ohara School of Ikebana. Ohara is one of the oldest schools of Ikebana and is known for its use of natural materials and celebrating the beauty of each season.
Refreshing hibiscus watermelon cold brew over ice tea will be served by Haiyatea, along with daifukumochi.
Limited to twelve seats.
